Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. – Philippians 4:8
Some things may be facts, but they are not true.
The truth is: I am chosen, loved, anointed and blessed. I am righteous, free from sin, guilt and shame. I am royalty, I am the light and He lives in me. He loves me, He loves my company, He loves my personality…He just loves me completely.
So the fact that I lied about so and so yesterday, I messed up, I don’t have a pretty yesterday, and I probably haven’t prayed today among other things is correct but it is not the truth.
Whatever your “facts” are, they don’t change the TRUTH.
The only way you’ll know the Truth is when you go to Him. Yes, Truth is a person, a man to be exact. His name is Jesus.
Find out what He says about you and who He says you are. After He shows you, whatsoever things are true, please think on these things.
I love what the message translation says;
“… the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse…”
Don’t waste time beating yourself up about the mistakes you made, the things you did, the sins you committed and whatever else when the Bible specifically instructs us to think about the truth. Do not give the enemy a chance to inspire your line of thought.
Do you know that thinking on things other than what Philippians 4:8 instructs is disobedience. You don’t want to be in disobedience now, do you?
I honour you.
